Things to know about the land - especially if you have kids
You should be aware that there are poison ivy, ticks, wild animals, copperhead snakes on this property. There is also access to the Rappahannock river which could be a drowning concern, since the river bed could be relatively deep in some areas.
Pet Policy – No Pets, except service animals with papers. Please send an email to pre-register service animals
RVs and Trailer Policy - RVs, trailers, and buses are allowed, but we would like to make sure we have a space for you, so please let us know if you are bringing an oversized vehicle that you plan to camp in. Please note that spaces are not going to be totally level.
Sound Policy - Sound down or off after 11 PM
Flame Effects Policy – Please contact us for any fire performance. There may be a fire ban in place.
Fire Policy - There maybe a fire ban in place because of the recent drought Please consult the organizers before setting up your fire pit. We do have some seasoned firewood on the property Assuming no fire ban is in place, you can bring a burn barrel for your camp, or have a fire in one of a couple of small existing rings. We will also have a community burn barrel. There is some wood on site, and more if you want to gather and/or chop it. You must bring a fire extinguisher and someone must be watching the fire at all times until it is completely out. We plan to have a place where cold ash can be dumped, or you can pack it out.
Fire spinning is permitted in the field (not under the trees), with appropriate precautions, including having a safety. Please talk to us about the potential fire ban.
Kids Policy - You are welcome and encouraged to bring kids, but they must be supervised by a responsible adult. If you want to bring a minor and are not their guardian, you’ll need to bring a waiver signed by their parent or guardian.
Alcohol Policy - If you are 21 or older, you may bring alcohol to consume or share with campmates who are also 21+, although walking around with glass is discouraged. “Bar” camps are not permitted. If you are planning to go in and out please have a designated driver.
In and Outs / Day Pass Coming in and out is allowed. You can come for one day with a day pass.
Open Camping – Camping is available in designated areas, either in the woods or around the perimeter of the main field. Carry in - There is a wheelbarrow we can lend. Its an easy walk from parking, but if you really want a cart… please bring one. Folks with mobility issues may be able to drive closer, but please do not block the driveways of the folks who live here.
Parking - There is plenty of parking in the field, as long as everyone parks close together. If you only have a day pass, please park close to the gate so others walking all their gear in can park closer to the event.
Washing – Please wash your dishes or your bodies with no soap. If you are planning to use soap or shampoo, please prepare to carry out your gray water. Environmentally friendly soap like Dr Bonners is ok
NO Bathing in the creek or the river - PLEASE DO NOT USE SOAP OR SHAMPOO IN THE CREEK OR THE RIVER.
River Access: There is an “off the beaten” path to the river. Normally it takes about 20 minutes to go to the river from the creek. Please make sure to get back before dark, since the path is not marked. There are areas that are very slippery and some areas that you have to step over sleek rocks. There is no cell reception down there. Be cautious if you are leaving the property – it is deer shooting season and there is a hunting range nearby. No nudity outside the property.
Art Grants – We don’t have a formal process for art grants; The budget depends on how many tickets we sell. There will be a form on this site to fill out to apply for art grants. Ideally, we would like to purchase art that is designed to stay in the elements and be integrated into the environment. There are lots of growth everywhere.
Porta Potties – Porta potties will be serviced Saturday and Sunday. There will be custom made hand washing stations next to the porta potties. If you want to volunteer to decorate (and de-decorate) one, awesome.
Chill Space We have a 20 x 20 wooden deck with a big bell tent set up. There is also a school bus on the property which can be used as a chill space.
Access – The camping trip activities are limited to designated areas. The residential units, barn, farm animals, gardens and cemetery are off limit. Please respect the privacies of all the living and the dead on the property.
Operations Center – The barn is the operations center to be used for leads and volunteers. There will also be limited first aid material available at this location.
Special Needs – Please send an email to burnwithnoname@gmail.com if you have any special needs. We would do our best to meet your needs.
Bikes & e-bikes - bikes and e-bikes are welcomed. Speed limit go slow - just don't jump into the creek from Eagle Rock.
What to bring - All the food, water, medication, clothing, toiletries, and camping gear you need for the weekend. We suggest sturdy shoes and socks due to the presence of roots, snakes, and ticks. Art and food to share. Craft supplies if you’d like to donate some for the kids’ activities. Earplugs (the roosters get up early). A cart if you want it to help you schlep your gear from the parking lot.
What not to bring - Fireworks, anything illegal
